Caravan Solar Panels are a great way to keep your batteries charged when no power is available. We all want to free camp where possible. Solar makes this possible for an extended period of time.
Most caravans now come with some sort of battery system. These systems use a 240V battery charger to maintain your battery whilst on 240V electricity in a caravan park or home.
When no 240V plugin electricity is available a solar panel system will automatically take over the role and charge your batteries during the day.
There are various sizes of solar panels, each will provide different a different amount of charge power. Multiple solar panels can be attached together to give a higher charge output.
This is handy when usage is high or in bad weather.
A typical installation will consist of 1 to 2 panels. More panels can be added is space is available.
Solar panels do not get hooked directly to a battery. A solar regulator/controller is needed to control the charge power the solar panels are creating. It also controls the charge to your batteries. It will stop charging the batteries at the correct voltage when they are full.
A good quality regulator should be used. Also, a regulator which suits the type of batteries you have should be chosen. Most of the quality solar regulator/controllers are suitable for use with most battery types when the correct setting is chosen.
All of our panels have a sturdy aluminium frame where brackets can be securely attached.
A common installation consists of 2 x 160W Mono solar panels and a 30Amp regulator creates enough charge power for most caravaners.
The 30Amp regulator allows for addition panels to be added if required.

Mounting Brackets are available to help reduce the need to screw the panels to the roof. Our range of mounting brackets can be sikaflexed to the roof. They are also helpful to reduce the sharp edges on the solar panel which helps storage covers to be used with greater ease.
